I always find it very interesting to see what long-term investors are selling in a given quarter. Kahn Brothers lightened up on many financials that have shot up and now trade above book value. The firm sold out of Flushing Financial (FFIC), TCF Financial (TCB) and Dime Community Bank (DCOM). Khan apparently shares my views on the large-cap drug stocks, easing up on both Pfizer (PFE) and Bristol Meyers (BMY) over the summer. Khan Brothers also sold the last of the Travelers shares (TRV) it has owned since 2008 at more than twice the purchase price.

    What Blink?

Blink is one of the many, all new and exciting messaging apps (which differs from trendsetters like WhatsApp and similar messaging apps) following the SnapChat philosophy: It self-destructs within a user-controlled timespan!

SnapChat has been a newsmaker in recent months, not as much for its hit "disappearing snaps"-based feature, as for the unsuccessful acquisition bid by social media giant Facebook Inc. Where Snapchat allows users to upload photos or snaps which disappear to self-destruct within a few seconds after they viewed/displayed, Blink works on much the same principle for messages, images, videos and more!

Yahoo Inc. First Big Acquisition Post-Alibaba IPO Announcement

Much of Yahoo Inc. fortunes in the past few quarters are being driven not by internal growth factors but by much of the external "performers" in which it holds critical stake. Alibaba, the Chinese ecommerce giant which is privately held by founders such as Jack Ma and executives along with SoftBank, is the star of Yahoo Inc. growth, in which it currently holds a 22.6% stake.

But Stake in Alibaba Is 22.6%, Not 24%

Incidentally, industry analysts had assumed Yahoo Inc. stake in Alibaba was much higher at 24% but as per filings before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as part of its Initial Public Offering, Alibaba revealed the actual stake held by the once popular search engine giant!

Ever since Alibaba IPO offer has surfaced, analysts have been researching and crunching numbers to note the gains which Yahoo Inc. will hope to see, ever since the downward trend beginning 2006.

However, there is no evidence to support this conclusion. The truth is that we showed you an excerpt directly from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use that stated the CHMP "was of the provisional opinion that Omontys could not have been approved" due to "study results indicating that Omontys may increase the risk of death or heart and circulatory problems." It is clear that the EU application was withdrawn because Takeda (TKPHF.PK) could not get Omontys approved due to its safety profile.

It markets its products through its direct sales force, distributors, and sales agents. The company was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Roberto Pedone]

One under-$10 health care player that looks poised for a potentially large move higher is Stereotaxis (STXS), which designs, manufactures and markets an advanced cardiology instrument control system for use in a hospital's interventional surgical suite to enhance the treatment of arrhythmias and coronary artery disease. This stock has been on fire so far in 2013, with shares up big by 43%.

If you take a look at the chart for Stereotaxis, you'll notice that this stock has formed a major bottom pattern over the last three months, since this stock has found buying interest each time it has pulled back towards $3.50 and $3.10 a share. Buyers have stepped in at those levels and have not let the sellers pressure STXS lower. Shares of STXS are now starting to spike higher today right off its 50-day moving average of $3.59 a share. That spike is quickly pushing shares of STXS within range of triggering a big breakout trade above a key downtrend line.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in STXS if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance at $4 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above that level with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 1.98 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then STXS will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $5 to $6.24 a share. Any high-volume move above $6.24 a share will then give STXS a chance to re-fill some of its previous gap down zone from August that started at $10 a share.

Traders can look to buy STXS off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below those key support levels at $3.50 to $3.10 a share. One can also buy STXS off strength once it clears $4 a share with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

Look out Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISRG), and step aside BioTelemetry Inc. (NASDAQ:BEAT). There's a new cardiac name in town, and its name is Stereotaxis Inc. (NASDAQ:STXS). This small company's stock is soaring today on the heels of encouraging news, though the prompt for the stock's strength has been brewing for quite some time. This nudge for STXS, however, may well mean it has a lot more potential than ISRG or BEAT do for the foreseeable future.

As of December 31, 2012, the Company shipped approximately 3,300 DSS crystallization furnaces. The ingots are used to make photovoltaic (PV) solar wafers and cells. HiCz, or continuous Czochralski (Cz) growth process, produces monocrystalline ingots that are designed to produce more efficient wafers. The Company DSS furnace is a specialized furnace used to melt polysilicon and cast multicrystalline ingots. Multicrystalline ingots are used to produce solar wafers, which ultimately become solar cells. The Company markets its DSS crystallization furnaces under the names DSS450HP and DSS6! 50. The Company's largest capacity DSS furnace, the DSS650, is capable of producing ingots that weigh up to 650 kilograms using standard silicon feedstock. The polysilicon market environment has also continued to improve, with supply tightening up considerably and prices rising. This has opened up solid opportunities for a company like GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT), which seems set to improve at a great pace. Let's take a look at GT's prospects and see how it might do in the long run.

The new road map is aggressive, but First Solar has one of the best research and development teams in the industry, and I think it has a good chance of reaching these goals. What may matter more than First Solar's progress in thin film is how quickly crystalline silicon modules are able to increase efficiency over the same time frame. As I said, SunPower is already producing modules at 21.5% efficiency, and this year GT Advanced Technologies (NASDAQ: GTAT  ) is introducing equipment it says will increase crystalline cell efficiencies by 4% or more to more than 22% efficient (about a 20% efficient module).

GT Advanced Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: GTAT) stock has risen more than 160% in the past year as demand for its machines used to make solar cells, modules and panels has returned. Shares closed at $9.03 last night, in a 52-week range of $2.61 to $10.75. The stock’s consensus target price is $11.75, which yields a potential upside of around 30%. The snag may be its forward multiple, a whopping 93.2. The stock’s expected 2014 EPS is a meager $0.10.

Top Recreation Stocks To Buy For 2014

Can you use plastic to pay for weed? Card processors and peddlers aren't entirely sure, thanks to lack of guidance from the government.

The sale of marijuana for recreational use became legal in Colorado and Washington Jan. 1. For a market that has traditionally

dealt in cash payments, the new laws have left open the question of whether dispensaries will be able to accept credit and debit cards the same as any other business.

Some already are, though they're reluctant to admit how they're able to do so. A Cut Off The Top, a dispensary in Denver, has an advertisement in a recent issue of a local paper called Westword that says it now accepts Visa and MasterCard. A request for comment via e-mail wasn't returned, and a man who answered the phone at the store wouldn't directly answer whether the business accepts debit and credit cards, saying it primarily deals in cash payments.
